25.5% worked through in euros

  • €100 net → €125.50 (ALV €25.50).
  • €125.50 ÷ 1.255 = €100 net.
  • €4,000 net → €5,020; €12,550 gross → €10,000 net (ALV €2,550).
  • At 13.5%: €200 → €227 (ALV €27).

Registration and filing basics

  • Threshold: VAT registration is required once turnover exceeds €20,000 (raised from €15,000 at the start of 2025). Voluntary registration below the threshold is possible for businesses that want to reclaim input VAT.
  • Filing: returns are filed monthly, quarterly or annually depending on turnover, through the MyTax service (OmaVero) with the Finnish Tax Administration (Vero).
  • Reverse charge: construction and several other domestic sectors use reverse-charge invoicing — check before quoting in those industries.
  • Cross-border: EU B2B services are reverse-charged; consumer distance sales run through the One Stop Shop; Finnish VAT numbers start with FI.
